DAY 1: Arrive in lively Dublin, the vibrant, cosmopolitan city home to Guinness and the Book of Kells, a city full of history and rich heritage. Today, after dropping your luggage off at your hotel, enjoy a private walking tour of Dublin. Your local guide will help you discover the neighborhoods through the eyes of a Dubliner. This is a great way to get to know the city on your arrival and understand the Irish culture.

Later, the evening is yours to explore Dublin as you wish.

Waterford – 2 Nights
Granville Hotel (or similar)

DAY 2: After breakfast, pick up your rental car and head out to your next destination, Waterford. This quiet port town in southern Ireland has an impressive history and Viking origin. Primarily known for its crystal, it manages to conquer the hearts of many with its small-town feel, small museums and cheerful pubs.

This afternoon, take the award-winning Epic Walking Tour of the Viking Triangle to explore Ireland’s oldest city. Experience a thousand years of history in a thousand paces on this interactive guided tour that takes you past five national monuments.

DAY 3: Today, visit the Rock of Cashel, Smithwicks Experience and the town of Kilkenny in a full day, guided group tour from Waterford. Find out about the different roles the Rock of Cashel has played through history. This fantastic site is home to the ruins of a great Celtic Cathedral. Kilkenny is one of Irelands best preserved medieval cities with 800 years of history. At the Smithwick’s Experience you'll learn about the history of this famous Irish Ale.

Killarney – 2 Nights
Killarney Royal Hotel (or similar)

DAY 4: Set out with ample time to visit Blarney Castle and the Blarney Stone (kiss only if you dare) before heading off to Killarney for the next two nights. This evening, spend the time exploring Killarney town with its many shops, restaurants and pubs.

DAY 5: Today you will explore the wondrous Ring of Kerry. You'll be amazed by the rolling green hills and sparkling lakes, sheep bleating and cows grazing in patchwork fields and pristine golden strands giving way to jaw-dropping cliffs.

Along the 111 mile route, you’ll find that each turn brings a new treat to the eye, from lakes, rivers and waterfalls to grand houses and castles. Don't miss: Moll’s Gap, Torc Waterfall and the Gap of Dunloe.

Ennis – 1 Night
Newpark House B&B (or similar)

DAY 6: Today you’ll visit the Cliffs of Moher. These spectacular cliffs stretch 700 feet over the rugged Atlantic coast. The Cliffs offer stunning views of the Aran Islands, Galway Bay, the Twelve Bens, and the Maumturk Mountains.

To make the most of the magic, nothing quite beats a wind-whipped trek across the clifftop, the edges peaking slightly upwards like the crests of the waves that roll endlessly below. If you’re up for it, try the Doolin Cliff Walk. It leads you down the full length of the well-worn trail to the hugely informative Visitor Center, set into the hillside like a hobbit house.

After, head to Ennis for a night at an authentic Irish B&B.

Limerick – 1 Night
Limerick Strand Hotel (or similar)

DAY 7: This morning head out after breakfast as you’re going to drive a little farther past Limerick to spend some time at Lough Gur, before exploring Limerick city on your own this evening.

With over 6,000 years of history, Lough Gur is a prehistoric site of renowned international importance. This is the only site in Ireland where unbroken history of humankind from the very beginning to the modern day can be experienced and is home to over 2,000 ancient monuments in a five-kilometer radius including Ireland’s oldest and largest stone circle.

DAY 8: After breakfast, drive to Shannon airport to return your car before your flight home or to start on your next adventure.
